Pain and suffering is often comprised of many layers. What is often overlooked in treating pain is the impact that social, mental, emotional and even existential insults can have on our experience of pain.
This may explain why you still find yourself suffering from the injury years after the incident.

These sessions are for those who are looking for a wholistic, trauma informed approach to care. My sessions are an evidence-based approach combining my 17 years of practice in the modalities of craniosacral work, the neuroscience of trauma, central nervous system regulation, ancestral healing, somatic practice, and mediation practices among others.

The intention of these sessions is to support you rediscover and reconnect with your Heart and your inner healing capacity. They have been described as transformative sessions by some.

These sessions are for those who are seeking joy and freedom from the following challenges;
Pain related to developmental trauma – i.e. birth trauma, traumatic injury as an infant
Shock trauma – Impact of physical insult, impact of loss
Chronic conditions – headaches, gastrointestinal issues, chronic pain, temporal mandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD), Complex regional pain syndrome.
Pain related to central nervous system dysregulation – anxious or depressive states
Pain related to loss of purpose in life
Pain related to land and/or ancestral disconnection.
Those who consider themselves sensitive to treatment.

This is a particular practice that educates and empowers you to come into deeper relationship with your body in a paced and at ease way. You will be invited to connect with your sensations through a set of simple specific techniques that harness the power of your somatic and regulatory system. This session is more accurately called a 'practice' as the main goal is to deliver easy applicable tools for you to take home, practice and integrate into your daily healing routine.


Pediatric physiotherapy

For those younger than 17 years. These sessions are a combination of craniosacral work and exercise prescription. Craniosacral work is a gentle non-invasive modality focusing on restoring vitality and normal movement to the bones, connective tissues, blood, lymphatic tissue as well as the fluid which nourishes the spinal cord and nerves.

The intention of this offering is to make space avaialble to those who would otherwise not have the means to and would benefit for this type of physical care. Equally, this space is open for someone who is curious but not sure and would like to explore if this method would be beneficial for them.

David McCauley is registered physiotherapist in British Columbia, Canada (CPTBC) and in Ireland (ISCP) and is a registered member with the Irish association of Craniosacral therapists (IACST). He is a mentor and a member of the Milne Institute teaching faculty for Visionary Craniosacral work (VCSW®). He is highly experienced in working with complex pain, including developmental and shock trauma, chronic pain related to mental health challenges and that arising from ancestral disconnection and meaning. He currently offers VCSW® classes in Ireland and British Columbia, as well has operating his clinical practice in the Cowichan Valley.
